Organic Don Ting Bi luo chun Green Tea, aka Green Snail Spring tea, Pi Luo Chun Tea, the most tender buds are picked under carefully controlled conditions in the spring. One of the prized top 10 famous China tea, only a limited amount of this special grade tea is available annually, is originally grown in the Dongting mountain region near Lake Tai, Jiangsu, China. Also known as Pi Lo Chun, it is renowned for its delicate appearance, fruity taste, floral aroma, showy white hairs and early cropping.

The name Biluochun literally means "green snail spring". It is called so because it is a green tea that is rolled into a tight
spiral, resembling snail meat, and is cropped in early spring. At that time, because of its rich aroma, local people called the
tea “Xia Sha Ren Xiang” (“scary fragrance”). The Kangxi Emperor of the Qing Dynasty decided to give it a more elegant name, "Green Snail Spring".

Bi Luo Chun is one of China’s Ten Famous tea and regarded by many as second only to Xi Hu Long Jing Tea(West Lake Dragon Well ). This tea was created in Ling Yuan Temple of Bi Luo Peak, Dong Shan and was orginally called Xia Si Ren Xiang, which generally means "astounding fragrance". It was the Qing Emperor that gives it its name, Bi Luo Chun (named after Bi Luo Peak) and declared it as an Imperial tea.
The scientific tea and fruit alternate planting method is adopted in the plantation, and the small leaf tea tree is selected and planted alternately with peach, plum, apricot, loquat, ginkgo and other fruit trees. The tea absorbs the fruit fragrance and the flower influenced tea flavor, creating the unique flower and fruit fragrance of Biluochun tea.

Process:

Manual picking of fresh leaves, fresh tea of core producing areas, to get a kilogram of Biluochun finished tea requires manual picking of about 4 kg of tender buds, which picked and fried on the same day. Tea buds must be made by experienced masters, no overused nor too light strength, also the fire heat need to be controlled, in order to make a cup of good tea.

A plantation growing Biluochun is amazing to visit, with the tea plants mixed in among a variety of fragrant fruit trees to give the tea its natural fruity aroma and taste. It is so delicate and tender that one kilogram of Dong Ting Biluochun consists of 30,000 to 40,000 tea shoots. Due to the stringent selection process for high quality leaves, this tea is not widely available.
One of Biluochun's unique properties is that when infused, the tea leaves do not remain at the top of the water but slowly float down the cup like falling snowflakes. Enjoy watching this beautiful scene as much as drinking Biluochun tea.
